Compassionate Ground

(Querist) 19 September 2010 This query is : Resolved
Is there any law that one can only appoint to lowest position (Clerk) in Category 3 of government service even if his deceased family member was holding highest post in Category 3 and if his heir is highly qualified like B.Tech and M.B.A.
Parthasarathi Loganathan (Expert) 19 September 2010
Compassionate appointment scheme is devised with the sole aim to ensure that the deceased family is not put to financial hardships. Hence, qualifications does not matter. In fact, dependents of even bank managers are given the post of messenger on compassionate grounds.
Sri Vijayan.A (Expert) 20 September 2010
In compassionate employment, the question of whether one's qualification meets the minimum requirement of the post only arises.
The appointment depends on other factors like vacancy positions, etc
