Hi,
i had a credit card and since i was pregnant and after that i had a scirion delivery and i had finacial problems due to which i was not able to pay the amount since 16 months.Now the problem is that i recieved a call from the collection agency in the month of Feb and they gave me a settlement offer of Rs 10,000 and i told them to call after 2 months as i had joined a job and based on the salary i told them that i would settle and thats why i opted for hdfc acc and i didnt recive any call and suddenly i recived a letter from the bank that the acc is kept on hold.bcoz i wanted to settle the acc i did not withdraw any funds and i have kept 2 months salary as it is in the acc.and now i called the numbers given on the letter and they are saying that they will not release the amount.so kindly help on this.as whenever i got a call from them always i told them that i wanted to settle but did not had funds as was not working.so kindly help what should i do.

Is the Credit card and the salary a/c is from the same bank.
If yes then they have rightly taken the decision to get back their dues.
Now you have to negotiate with them to settle the dues else you will have to pay the whole arrears.

I agree to the rightly viewed observations by expert Mr.Barman on the subject issue. You may negotiate with the bankers and solve the issue amicably at the earliest or else it will get prolonged causing you more harm.
