This query is : Resolved
I have been married for over a year legally(for Visa) and my social wedding took place 10months ago.
Since the social wedding my husband behaved very odd and i came to know that he had many affairs even after the legal wedding.
I had revealed about my life and the failed love affairs before my wedding to him when he started accusing me that I was a worst person.
Now that i accepted and started to slowly settle issue my in laws came into picture making all non sense and successful attempts to divide me and my husband.
Me and my family(parents) tried convincing them but the main issue of adultry by him is being put aside and accusing me that i wasn't trained properly of the customs. They also want to proceed legally.
(I have lots of pictures of him that prove my stand)
Kindly help me if I want to proceed legally.

Dear madam,
You can file divorce application and seek one time maintenance or regular maintenance from your husband.

The facts posted are too general and vague and suggest no cause of action in approaching the family court or seeking a remedy.

If you want to live separately by divorcing your husband you have to file a divorce petition in a court of law. consult a local well-knowledged advocate for guidance.

His acts of adultery is no more a crime as per Indian laws, however if you are able to prove his adulterous act or life then you can get divorce from him on the same grounds.
However if you want them to be brought under a negotiable table then you can put pressure on them by filing a DV case seeking various reliefs including compensation.
You can also file a criminal case for cruelty under section 498a IPC
All these may even backfire and you may not be able to continue the marital life with him anymore hence you have to decide about this aspect too.
However if the situation is intolerable then you may decide about filing a divorce case on the grounds of cruelty.

Try to find out some amicable settlement through family, friends and well wishers before resorting to legal process.
It is advisable to contact, consult and engage a local prudent lawyer for appreciation of facts/documents/ evidences, professional advise and proceeding
