It is possible now. UGC has issued guidelines too.

As per the UGC Dual-Degree course guidelines, candidates are allowed to pursue two academic degrees in both online and offline mode.

However, they can pursue up to two online courses affiliated with the same university or from different universities simultaneously.

Since dual course is now permitted by the UGC itself, and earlier it was permitted by some universitys to have simultaneous degrees like MA during day time and LLB in the evening time, or Post Graduation during day time and certificate or diploma course in the evening time, it may not normally create any problem, if you have not provided any false declaration for studying both.

Non insistence of TC by many distance educational programs was an indirect indication of a deemed permission to have two courses together without any clash in attendance.

If your appointing authority objects to recognise your simultaneous degrees, you have the right to go to the high court and get a decision on it, most probably a favourable one.

The high court may not find it difficult in extending a privilege a student has in 2022, to a previous year student, just because UGC was silent on its retrospective application, provided it was not prohibited specifically.

UGC's new guidelines will now allow students to simultaneously pursue two full-time degree programmes in physical mode.
As announced in the National Education Policy-2020 and in or and in order to allow students to acquire multiple skills, the UGC is coming up with new guidelines to allow a candidate pursue two degree programmes simultaneously in physical mode The degrees can either be pursued at the same or different universities..
