what is the process for filling a divorce case? If someone wants to prove the mental and physical torture done on him/her how can he/she prove it?

contact a local lawyer . file case on grounds mentioned in HMA if you are a hindu . prove the allegations .if physical torture has been inflicted police complaints must have been filed , medical reports of injuries etc

In this case, you need to contact a Local Lawyer to file Divorce Petition.

Every case is unik in its nature. It has to be proved as per its facts. cruelty is not a word defined in HMA. A particular situation may be a cruelty for a person which may not be for the other.

Better avail services of the local lawyer and let him decide whether the contents of your case, do constitute cruelty or not.
