Dear All,
My clients (a1 & a8) were convicted in 498a
all 4 witness tuned hostile, POLICE gave their versions as usual
and
defacto complainant and her mother gave their facts as usual
judge stated that that a1 managed and threatened the witness and accused has gone to such extent in doing so and this show the behaviour of a1.
No single material evidence of 498a
coming to a8, she has taken plea (alibi) that she is working, but could not produce document to that affect as such the company is closed
The same court acquitted remaining
QUERY:
when prosecution was not able to prove and all witness hostile
1) how can a1 or a8 be convicted
2) what would be grounds for a8 in appeal

Without knowing full case details / material facts/ related documents, nothing can be advised. Discuss with local lawyer.

Now the order of conviction has already been passed. You have only option is to file an appeal. The loopholes which you found in the earlier trial, get the grounds out of the same and go for filing the appeal.
