Hello,
I have rented out my bunglow's ground floor to post office on 5 year's lease.
Lease Expired on 2nd December 2009.
Till now post authorities has not shown any interest in renewal of lease deed.
What legal action I can take against post office.
Thanks and Regards
Vinay

Serve a legal notice asking them to either renew the contract or vacate the premises.

Hello Vishal,
Thanks for a quick reply.
Sorry for lack of knowledge,
but can you tell me procedure to serve a legal notice.
Is this notice needs to be issued through a lawyer ? Can I send them a notice and it will be treated as legel notice ?
Thanks and Regards

It is better to hire an advocate's services to send the notice although you can send one.

Send a legal notice u/s 106 of the TP act giving them a time to vacate the ground floor, other wise file a suit for possession.

Hello Mr. rajeev,
Thanks for the reply. I was looking at sec 106 of TP Act. It looks like as per sec 106, I can issue a notice of 15 days time.
In your reply you have said that "other wise file a suit for possession".
What do you mean by that ? and how long it takes ?
Thanks and Regards
