can a trust invest its fund in the shares or debentures of a public ltd company??if yes pls. provide case law, if any.

It is on the basis and in strict observance of its objectives the trust should act or invest.Everything depends upon the purpose for which the trust is founded. Unless the trust deed is perused,it would be difficult to answer your query.

Not only trust deed but along with income tax act. If IT act does not permit you will be taxed at maxmimum rates with no exemption.
