Buying a plot near DRAINAGE is validy?

i am plan to buy a plot in bangalore,karnataka.

but next to that site/plot 20ft DRAINAGE is going on,

If i buy today this plot/site, is there any change to occupy this sit/plot by local corporation? saying this is for the use of general public they are occupyng.,

Is there any problem in buying this site/plot legaly.

Before buying such plot u should verify the city survey plan and development plan to ascertain whether the plot is under reservation; if not under reservation, whether there is any set back from the boundary of the canal. Seek the help of an Architect.
