How to transfer Father's registered plots to My mother's name after his demise without will

Hi,

My Dad passed away without a will. We are three siblings and my father had 2 plots in Gaziabad registered in his name. Me and my 1 other sister live abroad. My brother and mum live in india. We now want to sell the plots- Just wanted to know What is the option that we have.Should we transfer it to my mother's name and then she can sell it. In that case what is the formality we need to do. Or should we follow some other route.

Please guide.

After the death of your father intestate all his properties are to be equally divided among his legal heirs which include his widow and the children.
However there is no bar to transfer ones share in favour of another.However since most of you are scattered around the world it is better if all of you execute and register the POA in favour of any of you so as to facilitate the transfer on all of your behalf.
