Credit card related

(Querist) 17 January 2012 This query is : Resolved
Hi,

I was working in Singapore for sometime and I got transferred to India unexpectedly. I was left with credit card payments. After coming to India I asked them to transfer the credit card account to India since it is from a global bank and they said they cannot do it. I informed them that I would like to make the payments despite threatening messages from the recovery personal. I would like to know if legally either party can have a recourse to sort this out in Indian courts since the credit balance is not transferable to India. Appreciate your help.

Warm regards

A Gowri Sankar

Dear A Gowri Shankar
No one can prosecute you in this regard in India, if they have filed any legal case against you then you can fight.
you can send an application -cum-complaint to bank official or financier in this regards and inform them that in india it is illegal to hrassed the person for recovery by any muscles man or goondas. if you have valid dues 7 have right to recover from me by legal means then you are free from do that.
Feel free to call

If there is any outstanding, settle that to avoid unpleasantness. Give the banker your change of address.

If you dont have cash in hand, ask them to give some time.

At any cost no body can threaten you and collect money. They can recover it through a civil case, in Singapore only.
