my paternal grandfather expired in 1973 and left a lot of property in Delhi, which was managed by my father and brother. We are 7 sisters. My father passed away 12 yrs back and my mother passed away last year. My grandfather died in state. We sisters have no knowledge of how the properties were transferred. My question is how do i get the details of the properties, all of which are now in my brother's and sister- in -laws name.We siters want that at least one house which was on my mother's name should be given to the sisters. Please advise.

since your garndfather died intestate your father was one of the legal heirs .
you have not mentioned whether he had any other children besides your father .
on death of your father all his children have equal rights in property . ie 7 sisters and one brothers .
take search in registrar office . contact a local lawyer

Hi Ajay, thanks for responding. My father was an only child, and the family migrated form pakistan at the time of partition. My grandfather was a property dealer and developer. some of the property must have been in my father's and grandmothers name.My father did not want to give any thing to the daughters and manipulated the transfers, and my brother (the only one we have) did the same. Some properties were sold and the money reinvested. We sisters have always felt cheated and strongly feel that as a token the house on my mothers name should be given to us. As per my brother she willed it to him, which i doubt. She had no income of her own and the house was constructed by my grandfather. If need be i can ask one of my sisters who lives in Delhi to contact you. Pl also quote the likely fee.Thanks.

You can claim your share in the share of your father in the ancestral property. For this you will have to file a suit for partition and seperate possession.

I do reside in NCR. You shall have to file a civil suit for partition and possession at least against the house which remained in the name of your mother. If you have no. etc. then it can very well be enquired from the municipal record and entire information may be got collected and thereafter further course of action may be initiated on your part.
