Agricultural land taken away

(Querist) 30 June 2012 This query is : Resolved
Hi All,
Myy father is was a caretaker of my grandfather's agricultural land for last 40 years 1972 to 2012. Now my 6 otther uncles sudenly started asking for share in that property. My question is "When my father carried out all activities for 40 years and no one objected or bothered and now suddenly they comeup with the share demand." Though all property is equally distributed on papers, but all taxation, irrrigations, fertilizers, seeds and every activity was carried out by my father, can my uncles take away that land fro my father?
please suggest.

It can be said that your father was taking care of the property on behalf of others and only for that reason your father cannot become absolute owner of the property,so they have right to ask share in the property.

YES. Your uncles have a share in the property.
