Sir,
I am working as Postal Assistant in Post Office. I wish to resign to my job as i am going to further studies. Can I absent from the job after submitting my resignation letter? Or Should I attend to the job till the acceptance of my resignation letter?
If I absent from the job immediately after submitting the resignation letter, what are the consequences?

Dear Madhu Babu,
You will have to wait till your resignation letter is accepted and you are relieved officially after vigilance clearance and the clearance of departmental dues, if any, against you.
If you absent from the duty without getting your resignation formally accepted and relieved officially, you can be treated as on unauthorised absencem which can result in to disciplinary action against you tending to your dismissal from service. Dismissal from service may debar you from any Government job in future.
