Sir,
When the party go for registration of lease of immovable property in Tamilnadu, the registering authority adopting to levy stamp duty @1% on monthly rent, advance/deposit and service tax @ 12.36% on monthly rent and advance amount. Is it correct the method of adding service tax amount?
I think that the charging of stampduty on service tax on lease rent is not correct. Please clarify and advice to find out the remedy.

Dear Mr. Ramani
you are not right in your understanding. Charging of stamp duty is rightly unless there is any government notification u/s 9 of the Indian stamp act.
