Gratuity - permissible components - clarifiction

(Querist) 09 April 2017 This query is : Resolved
Sir,

I worked in Sankar Foundation Eye Hospital, Visakhapatnam from 21/12/2009 to 30/01/2016 (6 years 1 month)

Even after passing about 1 years, despite submission of request letter in writing, personal requests no gratuity has been settled by the Foundation. At last, while personal visit, I was paid Rs.31,036/- against "No Due Declaration" in writing towards Gratuity payable.

Details of Salary is as under:

Basic Pay : Rs. 8,966.40 HRA 3,586.56 Special Pay: 8,787.07 Allowance 2,000.00
23,340.03

Cheque issued for Rs.31,036 towards Gratuity. I was also informed that other than Basic Pay, no other component is permissible for calculation of Gratuity. Since, myself being a layman, humbly request one and all suitably.

Kindly advice.

The calculation is correct.

Gratuity= { (Basic+DA)/26*15*No. of Years in service}

(Basic+DA) as per last drawn salary.
Since there is NO DA, Basic is considered.

After 6 years take period less than 6 months as= 0 year

So 6Y1M=6Y.

Earlier querists/authors from your establishment posted queries that your establishment has not been paying Gratuity and they were supported.

Querist/authors confirmed that your establishment has started paying Gratuity.

I am happy to note it from you also.
