Dear Sirs

Can a Cenral Government servant head a religious organisation on honorary basis?
Whether he/she will attract the provisions of relevant conduct rules==kindly elaborate- if possible give excerpts of Court judgments.
A V Vishal (Expert) 06 February 2010
It depends on the service & conduct rules governing the government department and the government stand in such cases.
Raj Kumar Makkad (Expert) 06 February 2010
There is no hurdle if any Government employee in his personal capacity heads any religious organization until and unless specifically barred by such service rules applicable to particular employee.
Sachin Bhatia (Expert) 06 February 2010
Yes there is no hurdle in doing so.
Khaleel Ahmed Mohammed (Expert) 07 February 2010
I agree with Mr. Raj Kumar`s advice.
