hi sir
can a police officer call any person for investigation by giving notice 160 out of his jurisdiction or from other states.
if yes then who will bear related exp.

2004 AIR 2282 OR 2004 (2) Suppl.SCR 71 OR 2004 (5 ) SCC 729
CrPC it says "Section 160, Police Officers power to summon witness." and not accused.
The Police can call anyone for attendence that too prior to executing arrest and hence they cannot call him after arrest with notice U/s 160 crpc.
Don't forget to get the sign of the Investigating Officer on photo copy of notice they have sent to him. The police will write that he has attended or joined investigation. This is going to be only proof that he has obeyed the notice.
If they refuses to mark his attendence then dial 100 no. and tell them that you have been called by IO vide notice u/s 160 and now he is refusing to mark your attendence hence , you attendence should be marked.
You have to bear all the personal costs,that you incur for attending.
