Procedure to marry a girl from philippines

Dear all ,
A friend(Indian resident) of mine loves a girl who lived in Philippines country. They both wants to get married and boy wants to settle in India.
Can anyone plz help me out on this to tell me what sort of procedure should be followed by them to get married in India .
I want to know all things Documents requires , where to register their marriages in india and how, initial steps from them and etc..

The marriage can be performed under Special Marriage Act. For Registration, forms and procedures, consult the Registrar of Marriages (generally this office locates in the premises of Registrar of Assurances) under whose jurisdiction your friend's residence is located.

Agreed, however, the foreign national must get a certificate from the embassy that he/ she is either not married, or does not have a spouse living.

Marriage of course can be possible in India, but where they propose to settle after marriage, as girl's settlement in India would be governed by immigration and citizenship laws?

Yes the marriage can be solemnised under special marriage act and it is important that the foreign spouse need to produce a certificate to the effect of 'single' marital status. Further details can be obtained from the registrar office from where the proposed marriage is intended to be registered/solemnized.
