Best method

Is it better from a tax prespective to use a power of attorney to transfer my late father's land into my mother's sole name, or to use a deed of relinquishment from all of us children? Is there any tax payable on these two methods?

My father died without a will with the land in his name, we now want to transfer it into my mother's sole name.

Just permit to transfer the khata in her name. If you are not claiming any share in your fathers property you may execute the release deed in her favour
