My PF withdrawal claim rejected by EPFO, Bhopal with reason that they can not deposit my PF amount in my joint savings account. My all savings accounts are joint with my wife. Primary a/c holder is me & secondary a/c holder is my wife.
I believe that PF is for family and if so then how PF dept. object to deposit in my joint account?
Thankful if you can suggest the way out and prompt guidance. Now i am NRI and can not open individual savings account. Also I have two NRI accounts jointly with my wife.

Thou you argument is not tenable before law and plea of PF department is accurate in the light of the fact that pension is also credited in the individual account of subscriber and it is seen that if the account is joint, generally joint account holder do not intimate about the death of the pensioner and credits go on years and years illegally in that account. PF department has made a rule keeping in view the problem coming in its way but in your case, you may specifically intimate to the department about your problem being NRI. I hope PF department shall review its decision and accordingly you shall get your accumulations in the same account.

The EPFO is responsible to pay accummulation of money of your EPF account only to you, NOT to your wife jointly along with you. Either you should have your individual single account, if you want transfer of money online, or request for a crossed account payee cheque. On receipt of account payee cheque you would be able to deposit the amount even in to your joint account without involvement of the EPFO.
