I am distributor for vadilal ice cream at panipat. In the month of July 2012 a food inspector come to my place for taking a sample of ice cream. The sample is failed and I informed each and every step to the company. Yesterday I received a notice from the authority to come to the court on 5/09/13. I am only doing distribution of vadilal products. Kindly guide me what to do in this matter.and what is the impact of this on trader and manufacture who is not bothering. the reason behind the fail of sample is low milk fats.

However, in the interest of Public Health, you must co-operate, tell the truth and go to court.
It will rectify lapses and mistakes, on part of distributors, if any in storage condition, it's temperature, and handling, that is at your end, once mfg ice cream is delivered from factory to you.
It will improve and correct any health hazards.

No escape. Anonymous queries are not replied by experts. However, you are advised to hire services of a lawyer and attend the court along with him. Manufacturer, distributor as well as retailer, all are liable to be tried on the charge of adultration unless proved innocent. You will have to prove your innocence.
