Affidavit for date of birth for pan card

we are applying for pan card online for my father we want to get affidavit for date of birth as we dont have any other proof for the same . nsdl website requires such affidavit attested by magistrate so how can we get it attested from magistrate?

visit any metropolitan magistrate court near your residence . you will find number of lawyers around court premises . contact any of the lawyers . they will do your work on payment of professional fees

is it simmilar to notarised affidavit?

No, it differs a bit. In this case you have to appear before the magistrate and sign the document in his presence. You have to identify yourself also. These days in some states (like Haryana) the photo of person is also taken / printed on the document.
