Dear All, My father was missing since 1-Aug-2002. I have a only mother and we have no brother & sister Can u please let me know what is the procedure for obtaining a death certificate in case of a missing person since it is around 14 Years. We have a registered complaint with mandir marg new delhi police station.

The police should have acted also.
Approach a senior LOCAL counsel of unshakable repute and integrity specializing in civil matters and having successful track record..........for helping you to get the Declaration of Civil Death from Civil courts.....

You have to file a suit for declaration (declaration of civil death) before a District Court in Delhi (probably Patiala House, since Mandir Marg may fall under its jurisdiction), based on the police complaint filed by you.
After hearing, the Court may pass a decree declaring civil death of your father.
Based on that decree, your mother has to approach the Department of Women and Child Development, Govt. of NCT Delhi for grant of Widow Pension. The Application Form for this purpose can be obtained from the following link.
