LAYMAN'S NEWS
As the historic Right to Education law comes into force today, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, in an unprecedented move, addressed the nation on the law. “The government pledges to give education to all children. It will make our children capable citizens,” the PM said.
“I call upon all state governments to join this national effort,” he added.
LAWMAN'S VIEWS
At the same time it should not allow politicians to mis(use) this law in the name of announcing Education related sops in their Election Manifestos
The issue is will it not pave way creation of more Educational Institutions mortgaged to private players in the name of this law?

If Government cannot run much institutions within its resources then the participation of private sector is the need of hour. I do agree that none should be allowed to misuse any act or situation under the garb of constitutional provisions.

To safeguard the interest of our Indian Constitution Govt must take a lead in this regard. Otherwise, just like Deemed Universities run by politicians and getting de-recognized on account of low quality education standards, such schools will also suffer the same fate as a result of swindling money from the parents in the name of donations, tuition fees, etc

Yes. I totally agree with Mr. Parthasarathy. This is to fill the pockets of private enterprises in the name of universal education. Earlier, the Governments opened the power sector, telecom, education to private parties, insurance and banking secotor. Everyone of them minted profits. The infrastructure was made by the GOI in power and telecom secotors and by paying meagre licence fee, these private players earned huge profits. The power bills are raising day by day. These private people are not for generation of power but only to distributed and to pocket the public money. Enron is the greatest example how our politicians take the public for ride.
