sir/madam
My elder sister worked for FMCG based private co. for last two years as a admin officer.Initially she got Rs.14,000 and later it was increased to Rs.15,700.But since August 2010 she didn't received salary upto march 2011.One fine day in the month of march her boss decided to wind up the firm.On demand of salary my sister got two cheques which got bounced. What must i do to take further action.. please help me out..

you can file NI138 case against him, before send the notice to ask balance salary otherwise file a case against him.

Yes you can lodge a case under negotiable instruments act. No doubt in that. But you didn't mentioned that whether that company dissolved or still its working. If its already dissolved mean against whom you will file the case?

If the co. is dissolved, make a claim before the official liquidator. you can also file a cheque bounce 138 N.I.Act case against the company repstd. by its officer and also the signatory of the cheque.

File a complaint against the company and its directors{signatories of cheque] u/s 138 of N.I.Act.
