This query is : Resolved
I am a student(without 10th and 10+2) who have completed BA through distance education from Andhra University based on entrance examination held in Jan'1992. The eligibiity criteria for the then entrance test was 20 years as on July'1992.Passed the entrance and got admitted into BA course in May'1992 and completed graduation in the year 2007. Subsequently appeared for law entrance of AU and completed LL.B(3 years) through regular college study.I intent to enrol myself with AP Bar Council.
My querries are
(1) I was told that I should have completed 21 years of age at the time of writing BA entrance exam. Is this true ?
(2)Is my age at the time of BA entrance having any bearing on my enrolment ?
(3)What are the correct guidelines of BCI in this respect ?
(4)What are the options left to me in case of non-enrolment ?
Anticipating your valuable and expert opinion in view of All India Bar Examination for which enrolment is a must. Thanks a lot for your patient hearing of my position. Your advise will go a long way to other law graduates who are facing the same problem and basically from remote villages.

Recently, more than 100 advocates of Tamil Nadu were issued notice for removal since they have enrolled on the basis of their One/Two sitting bachelor degree. To my knowledge, their case is still pending. The BCI rules are very clear in this aspect. For enrolment, after 10+2, 3 years study for the base degree and 3 years Law degree should be completed.
Now, replies to your queries :-
(1) There is no age criteria.
(2) No.
(3) Go through the website of BCI and/or obtain a copy of eligibility criteria from AP Bar Council.
(4) It depends upon the case.

At the outset, I personally thankyou very much for your prompt reply. However, I would like to submit and clarify that I have completed graduation in BA(3 years course) through distance eduacation mode of Andhra University BUT NOT one time or two time sitting. Please do throw light on this aspect. Thanks a lot for taking trouble to clarify my doubt. I would be very glad to receive your valuable reply
