Can experts enlighten me as to what circumstances father becomes legally entitled to become the custodian of his child?

The courts in case of the custody of the child has to see the welfare of child while deciding the matter. Father is entitled to the custody of child on various counts such as:
i. Mother has contracted second marriage.
ii. Mother has no means to upbring the child.
iii. Father is financially sound.
iv. Mother is insane or mentally or
physically ill.
etc. etc.
