Sir i got the below message from income tax dept.will u please explain what it mean and the term 'return' in the message.

Register on www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in to view your Tax Credit Statement (Form 26AS) & e-file your return. Due date - on or before 31st July, 2011

by registering,you can view the tds detail on line and check any discrepancies in your tax deducted and remitted to the IT authorities.
the said information can help you in filing your return electronically on line.

this option is if you wish to file your return online and you are not covered under tax audit. Incase you are claiming refund in your ITR better file online return so that it gets processed faster.

If you are sure that your income is not enough to get the tax assessed and that you need not file any income tax return for your income during 2010-2011, then just ignore the message by SMS
