Registration of property

Dear Sir,
I have booked a flat and done paid the Stamp Duty three months back.I am applying for Home Loan for which Bank has asked to get certain documents from Builder, however when i approach builder he says to first get the registration done .My query is ,is their a time llimit for getting the registration done after paying the Stamp Duty ? If so what is the validity.
Can i get ask for the documents from builders that is required by banks for processing the home loan ?
Kindly help on above queries.
Pls let me know .

Registration has to be done within 4 months from the date of execution as per the registration act.

I hope you would have merely purchased the stamp papers and not executed the documents by signing it. If such be the position it is not right on the part of builder to expect you to do registration first.

It is advisable to get the documents from the builder and submit to the bank for loan purposes and once the loan is sanctioned then go for registration.

There is no time limit within which stamp papers can be used. However, if you want to refund by returning the stamp papers the time limit is six months.

You have every right to ask for the documents from builder which are required by bank for processing of home loan.

WHY THE BUILDER IS DENYING FOR DOCUMENTS HE CANNOT REFUSE TO ACT AGAINST YOU.
