To include my wife as coowner of property

I purchased a Flat in Bangalore about three years back and got it registered in my name.I am a senior citizen of 75 years and would now like to include my wifes's name also as coowner of the Flat.How do I do it? Should I reregister and what will be the stamp duty and registration charges?

You have transfer a particular share in the said property in favour of your wife and get the deed registered. The stamp duty varies from state to state. In West Bengal it is 0.5%.

it will be a transfer of property and usual registration charges will be applicable (charges fixed by state govt., so vary from state to state)

Yes. I agree. If you want to avoid stammp duty,execute a will in favour of your wife.
