Defamation case

My friend is working in an University. His distant relative as well as enemy, floated number of applications under RTI Act seeking personal details of my friend from PIO, University authority.

My friend want to file a defamation case against the information seeker. Kindly guide me in this regard.

sorry you cannot file defamation case against him, because the RTI information can ask any one, any where, if personal information collect from you, you dont accept to give your information to the university.

YOU MAY APPLY TO THE SAID UNIVERSITY AND ASK FOR COPY OF SAID APPLICATION FILED UNDER R.T.I. AND ALSO INFORM YOUR WRITTEN OBJECTION FOR GIVING ANY PERSONAL DETAILS TO THIRD PARTIES.
WHEREAS YOU MAY SEND A LEGAL NOTICE TO THE SAID PERSON ON THE BASIS OF SAID COPY OF R.T.I.APPLICATION AND INFORM HIM TO STOP MAKING SUCH APPLICATIONS CAUSING DEFAMATION AND FURTHER MENTION THAT YOU MAY FILE A CIVIL / CRIMINAL CASE AGAINST THE SAID PERSON IN PROPER COURTS.
THIS WILL SERVE YOUR PURPOSE.IN CASE THE NUISANCE CONTINUES THEN DO NOT HESITATE TO FILE A CRIMINAL COMPLAINT IN CRIMINAL COURTS AND GET ORDER FROM COURTS DIRECTING THE POLICE TO INVESTIGATE THE MATTER. OF COURSE YOU KNOW YOUR MATTER VERY WELL MERE MENTIONING OF DEFAMATION MAY NOT BE SUFFICIENT YOU MAY MENTION ANY FURTHER DISPUTES OR THREATS IN THE SAME AND YOU WILL SUCCEED.GOOD LUCK.

Thank you Mr.Nandkumar B.Sawant. I have also first ask my friend to file an objection to University. caste rivalry behind this story. I will post more details shortly. I will advise my friend to follow your guidence.
