I have a recording of a corrupt municipality govt employee asking me for a bribe. Is this of any value as evidence in a court of law?
In general can video recordings or audio recordings be used in courts?

Yes. The video recrding is admissible as evidence in court.
Your rights are denied by the municipality staff in unlawful way. You should take action against the said employee.

I agreed with Experts, But During Court Proceedings, though it is not impossible, it is next to impossible to punish.

There are various citation which not only mention how to use tape recorded evidence before the court of law but various corrupt officials have been punished thereto so it is not impossible as shroff smell.

Raj Saab,
The matter come up after many years, in court where I experienced, even Complainant are sold off, and Anti Corruption branch, after taking lots of trouble, are helpless.
Witnesses changed their version in Court.
The Result are discouraging.
It is my personal experience, especially with PVT AGENTS.
e.g. Corruption at Registration Office, in Thane/ Mira Road.
Only concerned Officer was degraded, and never promoted, but no further.
That's why i used the word, not impossible, but next to impossible, VERY DIFFICULT.
See Govt machinery?? .
