(Querist) 13 March 2013 This query is : Resolved
Dear sir'(s)
Ours is non-granted school, which is run by a charitable trust registered under BPT Act.
according to section 117 (4)of the MLRCode 1966 , the land which is use for Educational purpose is exempt from payment to NA Tax Assessment , we have got Sanad in the year of 1994, since that time we have not paid NA tax. we received notice from talahti for the payment of tax , and we have filed application under the same section for exemption of tax.
My query is can NA tax be exempt u/Sect.117(4) .
Please guide.

Pl check the sanad issued by the collector for NA use of the land. Paras 2 and 2A are relevant. they provide for the conversion tax and the NA assessment payable. If the said paras state that no tax is payable, then u bring the above fact in ur reply to the notice received by you.
