Why the fil is taking adjournments?

Sir I am the brother in law of the married woman who file the FIR u/s 498-A/406/506 IPC and I had to file the criminal main application before High Court for qaushing of proceedings.The HC stayed the proceedings pending before the trail court and directed the respondent-complainanat to file the reply.Till now 5 hearings had taken place and for last 3 hearings he had been seeking adjournment for filing the reply..Whether this is delayed tactics or his counsel is extracting money for delay per hearing?

You take objection when they move any application for adjournment.

Done many time but adjournments they take it verbally only with plea that they had the reply in hands and copy has alaready been served and needs to filed the filing counter only
I mean to say what they will get if they get the adjournments because I am the accused..

This is the right of an accused person to have speedy trial so make a request to the court through your lawyer not to provide adjournments to the opposite party.
