(Querist) 25 December 2013 This query is : Resolved

Sir,
I am resident of new delhi and there are plenty of slums located to near railways tracks and on the railway lines there are many drug addicts/smackers alcoholic s there which has in the knowledge of police and administration. There are repeated threats at my house and prevsiously one of thief attempted to open the main gate by rod at mid night. Then I contacted the 100 number police arrived and note down the report and then there was again burgulary at home , the police was called and note down the valauables which has been theft. The police informed that nothing can be done as there were plenty of smackers/drugs addicts who are the baitual of stealing things.Today at around 1 p.m there was thief noticed on our first floor and he has borke off the metallic taps from the bathrooms, toilets, wash basins. On being notices, he though all the items on road and run away. I tried to over power him but he pushed me and screamed a lot after him but no one came .One of th vegetable vendor tried to caught him but he threatened that he was carrying sharp blade and will immolate himself
I intentionally did not report the matter to police as police will not register or do any thing and there are repeated thefts in our locality
What is the best advice in such circumstances. shall I report to the police or approach to the higher authorites for curbing such activities

install CCTV cameras . it is must these days . further your society must be having security guards . if you dont stay in society but have independent bungalow then install burgular alarms .

Unless you report and register the theft you cannot have any claims.

Ok
For effective steps you have to lodge complaints with Police.
However the Police is not solution for this problem especially if the same persists.
You have to beef up the security in your locality.

First, with your mobile take clear snaps of the places where these drug additcts are sitting and sleeping and consuming drugs as they do these things in clusters and also snap drug addicted persons wandering those places near your dwelling unit. Take several snaps on several dates for a week. Write a complaint to NDPS Unit (There is a special unit in Delhi Police)attaching the photos and asking them to ride that place. You have to pursue them vigorously. So, at regular intervals they ride those places and capture the addicts. You know that drug consumption is itself an offence. If you still face non=cooperation from NDPS Unit, you have to approach the High Court under writ jurisdiction to stir the sleeping police unit. Delhi High Court is very pro active in PILs, your case will be seriously taken. Drug traffickers are not just simple thieves but a big law and order problem ranging to their involvement in rape cases and are bringing very bad name to our beloved "Delhi City", as rape city. Wish you act as a responsible citizen and convert your personal problem into community problem and take all necessary steps. Chandrasekhar (M)9868332610.

There is nothing wrong in a person posting different queries on different subjects here, the curiosity may help more people here to clarify and get clarified on different subjects, because everyone are not experts in all the fields.

The professional queries should be attended if the same appears quite frequently.
