Sir, i would like to know the difference between notarisation and registration of a document, as i am often asked to do this...!

No sir it's not academic, and in response to sankar ji, it is still not clear with the link provided, as the distinction isn't mentioned..

Sir,
This would definitely appear to be an academic inquiry.
In very simple words:
[1] Notarization is done by a Notary Public Advocate, in which he certifies, after comparing a copy with its original, that it is a true copy of the original,
[2] Whereas Registration is done by a Registrar appointed by the Government, he registers the document after verifying the proper value of stamps affixed, and proper registration charges are levied.
