Hello,
I have received a subpoena from a USA court which I am not sure it is all about.
In subpoena they say "Production: YOU ARE COMMANDED to produce at the time, date, and place set forth below the following
documents, electronically stored information, or objects, and to permit inspection, copying, testing, or sampling of the
material:"
They have said "I served the subpoena by delivering a copy to the named person as follows: by FedEx international priority"
and the company which sent the subpoena I don't know about them at all. Please let me know what I need to do as well does a subpoena from a US court has legitimacy for a Indian citizen who is not a US citizen.

The subpoena is like summons sent by court in India.
There is no legal binding force of a foreign nationals to abide by the terms of subpoena issued by USA court.
However there would be no harm if you assist the administration of justice of a foreign court.

It is form of summon from US court.
If you proceed it would be a very costly process to defend as lawyer fee is very high and become more higher due to droller rate.
You have not mentioned clearly how and why it reached you and how are you concerned?

No judiciary world over would question helping the court, so if you have documents then you need.

You may approach the office of Indian High Commission over there with copy of the summon so received at your end to check veracity of the document concerned and seek furthur guidance if need be.
