Cheque Dishonour

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 08 April 2010 This query is : Resolved
A cheque was dishonoured and I subsequently issued a notice to the drawer of the cheque within 10 days. The notice was sent by registered post but has been returned stating that the house is locked.

Can I lodge a complaint with the courts or do I have to send another notice.
Arvind Singh Chauhan (Expert) 08 April 2010
Issue notice once again.
Raj Kumar Makkad (Expert) 08 April 2010
You can file complaint just on the basis of your dispatch of notice through registered post. It is not mandatory for you to get the actual service of notice. If house is locked even then you can file complaint otherwise 15 days time shall get expired.
Kiran Kumar (Expert) 08 April 2010
i agree with Mr. Makkad
