Selling off one's share from inherited property

(Querist) 14 June 2011 This query is : Resolved
Dear Sir,

My uncle wanted to sell 1/7th share of his inherited property to his other 6 brothers. The property document is currently in his mother's(Late) name. Kindly advice what is the document that needs to be executed/signed by him to sell 1/7th of his share in a inherited property. This property is inherited from his mother thru a legal herier certificate. Should this document be registered and for what value.

He can execute a deed of gift and register the same in favour of his other brothers.

He can execute a release deed for releasing his 1/7th share in favour of his 6 brothers. It can be registered for the value of the consideration for the release or for nominal value.
