Money borrow

Sir , my friend given me cheque for Rs.100000
and i return the same by cash.but now they are demanding me one lakh and refusing that they did not received any amount from me. can they lodge FIR against me. what should i do. pl advise.

Definitely you can face prosecution, if compromise is not held.

If 3 years have passed from the date of said

cheque then case is time barred and they

cannot do anything against you.

You can face prosecution, the loan and its repayment has to be proved by both of you.
