Associate member

(Querist) 11 March 2013 This query is : Resolved
I am committee member of the society. I have submitted M-20 Bond. I would like my wife to be Associate member. My society has rejected my application saying since your are committee member you can not submitt application for Associate Member as your wife. you have to resign as committee member? Is my society is correct and under which bye-law or MSC Act they can refuse?

ask the society to point out the provisions of law which mention that committee member cannot submit an application to add his wife as an associate member

The approach of the committee is correct. If you are already representing your membership in person, how a person with you can be got allowed to become an associate member. This is a common sense.
