A member asked for a re-audit of the society records for period of 5 years, and the dy. registrar found irregularities and has ordered further probe in the case against the Managing committee.
Now after elections the same committee has come in power and in the AGM agenda, it is authorizing to incur the legal expenses to the extent of Rs. 1 lakh related to any legal issues pertaining to society. Can they do this,

Yes the registrar has fine them n they have gone in appeal.

If the society has preferred an appeal against the Dy. Registrar's orders, you may have wait for the outcome of the appeal to initiate any further action on it.
