Is a car owner liable for an accident by his driver?

i had paid all hosiptal bill & 10000/- cash to victim on accident date but today he is very serious, & mr sudhir kumar i m student, my father newly start the traveling business

Is the vehicle covered by insurance and did the driver have a valid licence?

yes vehicle insured & driver also have valid licence

if the driver had a valid commercial license then insurance company will have to pay or else you have to pay compensation as decided by the court. (not merely cost of treatment).

Owner of the vehicle is liable first, irrespective of the liability of the insurance company limited to the terms of the policy. However, driver cannot escape from the liability of negligent hurt or death due to rash driving.

Normally accident relief are covered under third party insurance. Consult the Insurance advisor or legal consultant.

He has not disclosed whether driver is having valid license and valid insurance of vehicle is there and whether insurance conditions are violated or not.
