What is meant by Adverse Possession ?

When and who is entitled to filed ?

Simply put, adverse possession means possessing immovable property with the knowledge that the property does not belongs to him/her. It is possession in your hands though you are not owner.

If such possession is more than 12 years then limitation comes to the aid of such person who is adversely possessing such property.

In adverse possession three important aspects are:

1.Possession
2. Such possession is adverse to the owner
3.Knowledge that such possession is adverse to the owner.
