SIR A PERSON POSSESION OF A PROPERTY FOR40 YERSOR LAND IS MY. IF I FILE,A SUIT AND DECLARTION IN THE COURT.I WANT TO KNOW FROM U WHAT IS THE TIME TAKEN THROUGH OUT THE FILE SUIT FOR DECLARATION, PLS TELL HOW MUCH TIME TAKEN NEAR ABOUT. NO 2.WHAT ARE DOCUMENTS NEEDED.I HAVE ONLY ELECTRICITY BILL AND MUNICIPAL RECIPT ,THE NAME IN THE ELECTRICITY BILL AND MUNICIPAL RECIPT IS MY FATHER- IN -LAWS NAME.HE IS DEED.CAN I PRODUCE THE BILL.PLS TELL

1. No prediction could be made about the time limit. It could be anything between 2-20 years.
2. Any suit for declaration about the title of property depends upon the proof of title. So you need to produce the title deed or any corroborating evidence in that regard. The electricity bill is not of much use.

He is talking of adverse possession. The time taken could be between 6 months to 1 year if it is not contended by any rival parties. Whatever tax receipts, ration card, electoral list, etc will be useful.
