Dear Sir,
i got married in the month of november-2011, and shifted to a 2BHK rental house at somajiguda area, hyderabad with my husband. the house rent was 10,000 including 1200 maintance charges. there waas no agreement or any kind of paper works done during taking up the house.
the owner asked us to pay one month advance rent along with the rent of the present month i.e. 20,000. we have taken his word as gentle man promise & we have paid the total amount before moving to the house. he insisted us to pay the whole amount first so that he can complete the repair works. so we paid the whole amount. but at the time of shifting we found out nothing was been done. then we claim the promise he he made to us. then he said if we are not satisfied then we may leave his premises, and he will not return our advance money. as we don't have any choice we moved to the apartment and he promised us again that within one month during our stay he will complete the repair works.
but in vai, its been going to be the 4th month but still nothing happened. so again we started claiming for the promises he mad, he got annoyed and demanded to vaccant the house. so, on the day of payment for the next month we decalred one month notice , that we are goint to vaccat the house next month.
now he is claiming to pay 3000.00 as forfeit money or else half the rent.
he had disconnected the electricity to our flat and also warned us to disconnect water connection if we will not leave the house.
he has made our life horrible. we both are working personnels and its very difficult to get a house in such a small time.
we have never come across such kind of thing, and we are new to this city and it seems impossible to get any justice.
hope you understand our case.
kindly reply and give us some idea how to deal with it.
Thank you very much for reading me.
Regards,
Deepti

your problem is you dont have any wirttene agreement . how did you pay adavnce money / by cahs or cheque?
did you receive any receipts?
send letters to him pointing out that he has failed to carry out necessary repairs although full amount has been paid .
request him to give electricity connection which has been wronly disconnected .
issue legal notice . file police complaint against him .

first of all thank you very much for your suggestion.
its a relief to know that there is some chances to fight back.
we asked him about agreement he said not require. and we have paid cash.
we have not received any receipt.
is there any firm are there to resolve this type of problems or else police complain is the only solution.

Notice followed by Police complaint. It is going to be little tedious.
