Sir,

What is the applicability of Service Tax to maintenance work contracts like repairing and painting of existing buildings? What is the exemption limit for Service Tax?

up to 10 lakhs no need to register with service tax but if the receipt is morethan the amount then you have to register .
As for as works contract you can avail 4% with cess 3% Composition Scheme for Payment of Service Tax
