Sisters wants divorce

Guest (Querist) 02 June 2013 This query is : Resolved
my sister was married a couple of months back to a man in lucknow. It was a love marriage but against my parents will. The marriage took place at the grooms house. The marriage was registered in lucknow court later.Initially things were fine with my sister but later my sisters mother-in-law and sister-in-law started mentally harassing my sister, making her house arrest and making her do all the house work like a house maid.
my sister wants to live seperately coz of all this but my sisters husband cant open his mouth in front of his parents and he too wants my sister to stay in the same house despite of all this.
my sister has left that house but now her husband has threatened to commit suicide if she doesnt return back.we are simple people and we dont want to get ourselves involved in this problem as my sisters husbands family are big fighters.
plz help us how can we safeguard our selves and our interest.

You have nothing to do with this dispute. Talk to your brother in law and request him to stay separately with your sister for some time so the situation in home improves in the meantime.

my brother in law is not ready to listen...
if he does something to himself then that blame will be on my sister and our family.should i tell cops about it?

In that case your sister has to file a Domestic Violence case against her in-laws. They will come to terms. If you go on dilly dallying then your sister has no other go than to silently suffer. Having taken the step to get married, she should also be prepared to take further steps without hesitating.

If MCD is no possible then contested divorce petition should be filed on the grounds of cruelty.
