Heir for an unregistered site

(Querist) 03 January 2014 This query is : Resolved
Hello all,

My brother had purchased a site from a society in Hosur, Tamilnadu. He died before registering the site in his name. Only the allotment was in his name.

He was never married. He is survived by mother and other two siblings. Is it possible to register the site in any of the siblings name also or is it mandatory to register in my mother's name.

I think rules are little different if site is not registered as against a registered property.

Can experts please clarify.

Whether we are registering in my mother's name or siblings name what are the documents needed for an unregistered site please let me know about the same.

Thanks in advance for your help and advice.

Regards,
Shruti

The dale can always be completed by registration of deed in the name of his legal heirs.

Approach the office of society and get the list of documents required by them for transfer.

Hello all,

Thanks for the replies. The society is not coming up with their rules. In fact they don't know anything.

If I register in my mother's name, then again I have a problem. Again I have to get the khata changed into my name. If someone can suggest a simpler alternative so that registration can be done in siblings name it will help.

Thanks in advance for your suggestion and time.

Regards,
Shruti
